2013
I want you to hear my voice rising phoenix-like from dark empty cloisters of nothingness––the antithesis of Iphone: I am cantos, I am elegy, I am song. I’m not operating system. I’m off grid. I’m free: a fire-bird reborn, I rise, I shine, bursting out of the heart of Osiris, red-gold feathered eagle-hawk, called from the sacred ashes to the teeming light, so says Shakespeare. Feeding on tears of incense, amomum, nard and myrrh so tells Dante. Some say I bring the alchemy of change to the mortal who has strayed from the path: I save.
Boundary Speak (Diaries 2013-2021) centrally focuses on reportage of my life’s happenings, notes on readings, phantasms or wild forays, riffs off music or footnotes from poems that take me on a strange journey, ruminations and thought fragments. My outsider artwork is focal on my Re-learn your Alphabet for the Twenty-First Century drawings (some of which are collaborations with my children), my robot series, as well as many other drawings undertaken over the period 2013-2021.
